dirty butt

we had a group of my friends from l. school over for dinner a couple of weeks ago and did some heavy cleaning in our apartment in preparation. part of that prep included a deep sweep of our bathroom: floors, sink area, toilet, tub. i also burned a scented candle during the night because i like fire and because i like how it smells.

later on that night, after general merriment and good cheer had been made, i went to use the restroom myself. i noticed that the toilet seat did not look right. it was dirty, like someone had taken their soot-covered hands and rubbed the seat real good. of course, i made another, much more logical conclusion - someone at the party had a dirty butt.

i deduced some culprits based on timing and narrowed it down to two individuals. my small sense of decency kept me from asking them outright, but i have to say i was fairly confident in my candidates. i watch "Monk;" trust me, i know.

tonight i had the unpleasant task of cleaning my dutch oven. (on a slightly unrelated note, i have a love hate relationship with my dutch oven. it turns out cast iron is not the friend i thought he would be and i plan to soon sell-out and do something yuppie that i am NOT proud of.) it left a strange seafood smell in the air and i decided to bust out my scented candle, of christmas party fame.

j went to the bathroom to take out the trash and told me, "hey the toilet seat is DIRTY." and i used my "Monk" skills and again and realized, hey my friend doesn't have a dirty butt, it's my candle! so i looked it up and apparently it's just candle residue. whoops.

so, sorry two friends who i thought might have dirty butt.

XOXO,
allison
