it is august

i'm feeling a little empowered because i just gained two (2) more readers! which i think brings my grand total to...six. ::scratching head::

anyways, here are some photos from recent happenings:

my mom turned 29! happy birthday mom!
sutro baths for 4th of july
we visited some farms in petaluma - here we are in front of their celery crops! i had no idea that's how celery grew. we got a sample and it was very tasty! (well, as tasty as celery can be, i guess)
free range turkeys. apparently, compared to chickens turkeys are much less intelligent. this particular farm also raised chickens and while they are more or less allowed to roam free without any restrictions, the turkeys need to be reined in because they're not smart enough to return to their home roost. they live in that yurt to the left.

pasture raised pork - before we went on the tour they offered us samples of the most delicious pork sausage and we made sure to buy a package on our way out. (pork and sage, if you were wondering). looking at this cute piggy now i just made the connection. i'm a monster.

we went to the beach two saturdays in a row and considered ourselves MIGHTY cool

went on a retreat to lake tahoe with the YMC group at church - a bunch of us got involved in monopoly and jenga before dinner and couldn't bear to see the games abandoned, so we ate around the boards. neither game was finished, but it sure makes for a cute photo, doesn't it?
