pilates for everyone!

i find it a huge hassle to go to the gym. the whole process of going to the gym, changing into gym clothes, doing the actual exercise, showering after the gym is, in my mind, too much trouble. "too much trouble for a healthy heart and body?" um, frankly, yes.
on a whim the other day at the public library, i checked out a "pilates for dummies" dvd and found that i really enjoyed the workout. my usual problem with exercise classes or any other organized "routine" type of exercise is either i cannot follow the moves and get really lost in the sequence, or i get really bored of the class because it stretches to an hour. thus you will find me at the halfway point praying for the class to go faster, or stopping the video after 20 minutes because i am bored bored bored. not to say that the exercise is EASY for me, I just have a short attention span when it comes to these things.
anyways, this dvd was great. i like that it didn't require any extra equipment, and best of all, it was broken up into little 1-2 minute segments for each exercise, offering a good amount of variety for short attentioned people. twenty minutes would just go by! and also, though i didn't get all sweaty, i found that i slept better, felt better physically, and some of my lower back discomfort caused probably by slouching and whatnot felt a lot better if i did some of this every day.
alas, the dvd belongs to the library and i had to return it but i found some good workouts on youtube. i thought this one was particularly good; works all the major parts of your body in a ten minute span!:
