movies i've seen a million times

*apologies that this is a total rip-off of an npr segment, but i think it's a fun discussion so here goes!

i would like to start out by saying that i am about to introduce you all to literally, the greatest movie in the world. may i present, "konrad":

"Konrad centers around a strange, technology dominated method of placing children in appropriate foster homes. When a computer error sends Konrad, a seemingly ideal child, to an eccentric woman whose many quirks qualify her as a definite reject by the mysterious "birth factory's" standards, no one is prepared for the resulting chaos." - rotten tomatoes (which btw, gave it a 50%) intrigued?

our local library was kind of hurting for videos and frankly, konrad was always available so i checked it out a lot. i can't say that i've watched it a million times, but i think fifty or sixty is a fair estimate. a childhood friend mentioned to me once that "you always made me watch it when i came over." well, because it was awesome! i don't want to give away the storyline, but if you're going to watch it, i really love the scene when konrad plays the recorder.

just for kicks i checked it out a few years ago to see if it still moved me like it did when i was a child and not only was the library's lone copy in great condition, i also was pleasantly surprised to find that i still enjoyed the movie, which isn't always the case for cherished childhood favorites.

at any rate, if you happen to see this vid at your local library, check it out! you're welcome.
